There is an old hymn which I love, that simply says: “Life is filled with swift transition, none on earth, unmoved can stand, build your hope’s on things eternal, hold to God’s unchanging hands.”
Who do you hold onto when going through life’s difficulties, who do you run to? Who is the first person you call? If you are like me, maybe you have called on friends, loved one’s and associates, who just were not there in your time of need. It’s a common human error and a part of growing into maturity. I love the picture below, I have to ask myself could I look this calm in the midst of a storm. Could I hold it all together? Could you look this calm and hold it all together?
I have encountered many times in my life, where I wanted to give up and throw in the towel and walk away. You may say Ryan, how did you reach such a place. Simply I had not yet learned how to have the ability to see God working in every situation no matter what the physical circumstances look like.
I have encountered many times in my life that I myself have wanted to throw in the towel and give up. It felt like the best option at the time, however there is too much inside of us, to just simply give up and walk away. I refuse to give up on my dreams, my goals and the vision God has given me for my life.
Every time I face a storm, every time I feel overwhelmed, every time I feel that things are just not working out, God always whispers in my ear, “The Lord God Will Either Calm Your Storm Or Allow Your Storm To Rage While He Calms You” It is at those times that God gives me peace that passes all understanding, I call it crazy peace, it allows me to walk around and smile and be kind to others even when all hell is breaking out in my life.
